Special Projects Coordinator

Met Special projects planning member’s goal is to coordinate all Non-print related projects, in a time sensitive manner effectively between outside suppliers and all departments within Metropolitan maintain the highest level of quality and delivering at the pull of the customer.

The ideal candidate must be/have:
• Knowledgeable of various mixed print media products
• Knowledgeable about coordination of project workflows
• Able to communicate effectively
• Have 2+ years’ experience in project management
• Detail oriented and an out of the box thinker
• Interest in learning and improving methods and procedures
• Ability to excel in a fast paced, deadline based company
• Ability to prioritize and successfully manage a number of projects simultaneously
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Confidently solve problems and manage decisions independently
• Effective conflict resolution skills

• Provide superior leadership by ensuring that all projects are delivered on time and within budget
• Ensure each projects quality level is understood and maintained in projects coordination
• Mediate between vendors, clients and Met sales reps to ensure effective execution of projects
• Obtain and write purchase orders for projects using Mets MIS Software
• Plan and purchase outside Mixed Media print projects
• Plan and purchase and coordinate special projects as needed
• Prepare work back schedules
• Coordinate projects within Metropolitan and internal customers
• Bill and maintain projects budgets, billing within 5 days (or less) of shipping completion
• Have the capability to estimate projects to establish sell price / or Quotes
• Work with estimator or self-estimate to requote projects when actual specifications differ from Quotation
• Ordering project sample dummies for pre-planning
• Attending daily production meeting
• Coordinate daily with / scheduling
• Maintain personal list to track projects opened
• Meet with assigned sales reps daily or as required
• Communicate with clients whenever possible to streamline information flow
• Attend / direct and schedule project specific meetings with department stakeholders as required.
• Taking ownership and accountability of projects
• Monitor and report on weekly WIP list of projects
• Report to Quality manager as needed to report defective or non-conforming project items.

Application Engineer (Vancouver)

Assignment Duration: 2 work weeks
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm

We have a steady stream of apps that we develop but we’re looking for an individual that has experience with making our apps smaller, so we can submit them to the app store without limiting content. Apps have to be a small shell that we submit to either app stores (Apple & Google) and the content has to be downloadable after the user installs the app shell.

• Knowledge of Unreal Engine
• Knowledge of Unity
• Knowledge of networking procedures
• Can setup dynamic network content installs for Unreal by either using C++ & HTML requests (This is important)
• Can setup dynamic network content installs for Unity by using C# or Unity native tools for dynamic content loading (This is important)
• Knowledge of Google play store & apple store submission guidelines.
• Comfortable editing Uassets chunks for Unreal & prefabs in Unity.
• Experience in a continuous integration, continuous delivery environment.
• Experience with cloud technologies.

MET Fine Printers is hiring a team member for the role of Print Estimator to prepare cost estimates for print and print marketing related projects. Team member would be integral in bridging the requirements of sales and production.

Responsibilities include:
• Prepare work to be estimated by gathering vendor proposals, electronic files, specifications, and related documents.
• Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, electronic files and specifications and by communicating with the sales team.
• Compute costs using print estimating software.
• Resolve discrepancies by ferreting out details and collecting and analyzing information.
• Present prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information in a concise manner.
• Help keep costing basis and estimating parameters up to date.
• Maintain cost data base by entering and backing up data.
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

The ideal candidate should have:
• The ability to work in a fast paced environment, have great attention to detail, and experience managing rapidly changing projects.
• Experience in print media, preferably with some Estimating
• Ability to collaborate across departments and team members.
• Tech and computer savvy and ability to learn new software when required.

Junior Bindery Machine Operator (Calgary)

Metropolitan Fine Printers Calgary is looking for a mechanically inclined individual who is able to work in a fast paced environment. An interest in print and print finishing processes is important, as is a willingness to learn with a diligent work ethic. A positive and can-do attitude is a must!

Digital print CSR / Production coordinator

This is a unique opportunity for an analytical and detail oriented person who is ready to make a change. Candidates must possess a high work ethic, attention to detail, excellent communication, with practical organizational skills, ability to work in a fast paced environment and have a proven record of successfully dealing with end clients and above all a positive attitude.
The successful candidate to have a preferred minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in the printing field and has demonstrated proficiency in taking charge of the details and communication around corporate accounts. An external qualification in printing or planning, or commensurate industry experience would be considered an asset.

Account Executive

As a result of our continuing growth, MET Fine Printers Inc. has an opportunity for a driven and customer-focused Account Executive to join our expanding Sales team in our Vancouver headquarters.
Reporting to the President, the Account Executive is responsible for supporting and selling to mid-level and corporate accounts.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Increase overall sales revenues by maintaining and growing assigned and new customer base through rapport building and providing excellent customer service and support.
• Contact historical and current customer bases to identify and secure new sales opportunities; provide potential clients with information on our products and services with a strong focus on opportunity spotting and the advantages of product upgrades.
• Work closely with customers to determine their requirements, and make cost-effective and innovative recommendations related to their required communication products and services.
• Regular and routine follow-up on open quotations.
• Provide appropriate feedback to management on customer challenges, competitive business practices, and other needed business activities.
• Provide business planning, order forecasting, business prioritization recommendations, and other business needs as appropriate to management.
• Serve as a Technical Liaison for internal and external customers.
Credentials & Experience:
• Technical Diploma or equivalent external qualification in printing or industry experience is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of consultative B2B customer service and or sales experience
• Strong customer relationship management skills essential, customer service driven attitude and sales driver orientation
• Proven ability to own sales opportunities through all cycles of the sales process, from qualifying leads, uncovering and identifying the needs, fostering the relationship, to closing deals
• Outgoing, open to changer, self-driven, high energy, positive personality, active listener and goal oriented
• Excellent organizational, communication, prioritization, and time management skills
• Experience with CRM/database tools is a definite asset
• Occasional travel required but minimal
